No one is trying to replace Chester! Did y’all watch the live performance at all? Even Mike speaks briefly on how Emily is Emily and the fans are in place of Chester.
There is no replacement! Just a band trying to pick up broken pieces.

I feel like from the perspective of the band when Chester passed, they were nearly left without a job.
Mike wrote a whole song about how he’s doesn’t know what the fuck to do now.

To all those bopping off about how disrespectful LP are being let’s put it like this:
You work a hard job but absolutely love it!
Your manager (who was also your best friend) dies.
you get left with no direction.
no answers and not even sure if you have a job anymore.
You have bills to pay, a family to support and a fire in your soul to create and a hole in your heart from grief.
Wtf would you do?
Lie down and do nothing?
Over analysis everything, stop your life in it’s tracks?
Get up and try again?

Just because someone else’s life ends, doesn’t mean yours does.

The only person that can say this is disrespectful to his memory is Chester. I’m sure that this scenario was talked about at some point when Chester was alive. No one has more respect for Chester than his band mates. So with that said they wouldn’t do anything to disrespect his legacy. It’s not as if Chester was kicked out of the band. So it’s not about replacing him. He can never be replaced. It’s about filling a position. Chester is gone. And that sucks. But it doesn’t mean that Linkin Park dies as well.

For Chester to be replaced he would have to be here among the living. Other bands have replaced kead singers when they were here, its never quite the same when someone new joins a band especially as a lead singer, but a band is not just one person. It'll never hit the same again, but the band members have the right to carry ine if they choose.

They can do what they want. This has been in making for 5 years. Then they recorded the emptiness machine with her and she just fits. They've been friends for quite a while. But the toxic fans that Chester couldn't stand rears their ugly heads once again. Chester once told those fans to kick a bucket that's your hybrid theory. I can tell you right now he would tell those people the same today just for being a holes to Emily.

Try dropping B sides, unreleased and demo's etc.. that's how you honor the king of our childhoods.

Only now at 36 do I understand what "in the end" truly was as a track..

Maybe next time people do not want a replacement - for a start, do not kill yourself, its normal for wife to re-marry and make a new kids with new husband after one dies through accident or whatever reasons is gone - bands do the same! Chester was amazing, but he is gone, life goes on after him, it is inevitable that with band of this caliber there will be a replacement after 1 or few members leave, dynamic will change yes, so nothing bad in that, people who like old albums will continue to listen them - no harm made! But meanwhile the new stuff is generated for the people hungry for new songs. Personally over 10 years I like the new synergy that women with similar abilities is bringing in to the Linkin Park - my favorite old time band and is now back in live for me - I have now given a second opportunity to go to they concert which was my dream, so I am thankful for that! It is no longer a memorial band - Thank God for that, it was getting depressing to listen 15 years of memorial!

Damn, No. Why, people are weak in adaptation and afraid of change. No one in the band defines replacing Chester is insulting the memory of him. He always will be in his legacy and identity while Emily may bring new waves which the band is kicking off on. The problems are not Chester, LP or even Emily, but the people are! I am huge fan of Emily and New LP and Old LP. Emily, don't even give a fuck. Continue rolling with LP. That's it. Period!

I Actually love their new sound, i don't compare the two as they did a great thing with getting a female vocalist as it creates a whole new movement, their is nothing disrespectful about it as im sure chester would have encouraged them to continue on. I'm thankful they're back because i get to enjoy the sounds that linkin park bring to the table

Open mind sounds about cool, but not for Linkin Park, is like making Limp Bizkit sound like Salsa kicking out the core. Chester might not have replace but they could find a better singer.

I was open, still open. From recordings of the tour so far, there are instances where she's given goosebumps. But we still need some concrete answers of what her views are on certain things, before a lot of us can 100% support her or the band. It makes us uneasy to think she might not believe what she's singing/peddling. She even removed her instagram post--does NOT send a good message.

No one is trying to replace Chester though, people also need to realize no one can bring him back either. They are taking a new direction and most of the fanbase are heated because they think Chester is being "replaced". Emily is just a new addition and a new dynamic.
