Ford Headlight Settings Explained

Thanks for watching South Bay Ford. In this episode we walk you through the different headlight settings using a 2021 Ford Explorer.

Please do not use the second from the top option as your "night time running lights". That option is for your parking lights (you know the yellow lights? Yea dont use that that while driving at night). The last option is also NOT your "day time running lights". That's just normal "on". I assume this guy is thinking these are daytime running lights because the symbol looks like a "D". It's not a D it's a headlight. The day time running lights aren't even controlled here. You have to go into the settings in the center console screen to turn them on and off. It's surprising a Ford dealership doesn't know the symbols for their own cars that have not changed in 20 years.

Have you read the owner manual before taking this video? Most of your explanations are substantially wrong and missleading, e.g. 'nighttime running lights' simply do not exist.
From top to bottom the correct functions are:
- OFF: headlamps OFF (daytime running lights are active if selected on the center screen and transmission is not in PARK)
- PARK: park/tail/side lights on
- AUTO: detecting day/night condition and provides same functions as the OFF and HEAD position)
- HEAD: low/high beams as well as PARK lights are on
The front fog lamps are available, when the switch is in PARK, HEAD or AUTO position (in AUTO front fog lamps as well as Auto Highbeam are available only during night condition)

Is there ANY way you can explain the indoor tailgate lights on a ford flex?? It has tailgate mode for the seats yet there isn't any way to turn off the lights to enjoy the feature, such as at a drive-in movie or camping 😢

I want my headlights to be off when I start the vehicle. If I turn them off and shut off the vehicle, the next time I start the vehicle the automatic headlights are selected. Does anybody know a way to disable that?

My heritage edition came with the whole lighting controls panel installed upside down. Lol. Gotta take it back to the dealer

Changed the driver side low beam lamp it still doesn’t work, the fog lights still work, this is a 2020 ford ranger. So I’m looking for the fuse for driver side low beam lamp

Now, can you explain why the stock fog lamps are so incredible weak and actually useless? I have the optional LED light package. When driving through a campground at night, I like to turn off my driving lights so as to not blind other campers. One night it was too dark, so I turned on the fog lights and saw no difference between them being on or off!

Need to go back to regular halogens, and if there is a chance you need this kind of lights, install some off road lights, that new crap is gona cause someone to wreck and cause death

Why did they change the design I have the 2018 Platinum then they make this body change smaller in the rear... I was looking forward to trading in for the new 2022 not now. Guess Ill have to go with the Expedition Platinum instead.

I have a 21 f150. Why do my headlights always go to auto when i start my truck? Can i stop it? Very annoying.

So why do the headlights just turn on when car is off. As in you shut car off and got out. Lights were in auto mode. Car was off for hours. Went to lock car at end of day and headlights were on. Had to go outside open car turn ignition on and change light switch positions to reset it. Has happened multiple times and ford dealer has no answer. Forum has a thread about this but no answer
