Synopsis
UNOFFICIAL PLOT: The Upside Down violently opens with fiery rifts in the town of Hawkins after Vecna succeeded in his plan. Eleven and her friends will find a way to stop Vecna and the Mind Flayer for the last time to prevent them from taking over the whole planet.

Remember in the first episode when Will got taken by "The Demogorgon" well there's no proof that it was actually The Demogorgon because you know how Vecna has mind controlling powers well if it was the Demogorgon how did it unlock the door because it doesn't have any telepathic powers but Vecna does so maybe he has been planning this since the beginning and every person that "died" so far might actually come back for example remember the finale of season 3 Billy got stabbed in the ribs like 5 times by the mind flayer and he was connected with the mind flayer right and we all know what Vecna did to Max so what if somehow Billy is connected to Max and you notice that between each season it has a time jump so that tells us that there is going to be another time jump in season 5 everything that happened since the beginning all the way until now Will is going to turn and ends up becoming the most powerful being because out of everyone in the gang it has always been Will he got taken in the first season, the Mind Flayer was inside of him in the second, in the third he knew wherever and whenever the mind flayer is around and season 4 he sensed that something bad was coming everything that happened was because of Will because Vecna had to find a host but why Will.

My theory is that Max is gonna wake up, but be connected to Vecna somehow. So, Vecna will be able to talk to her through her mind. She will also forget everything about her life, including her relationship with Lucas. Vecna will convince her that her friends are evil, causing her to be on his side.
However, the letters she gave them will have an answer on how to make her remember and escape from Vecnas mind. (I think she would have known from before, but was afraid to say it outloud as Vecna would hear)
In the last episode, when she remembers, she will sacrifice herself for everyone, saving Hawkins.

I think that will having powers is a likely accurate theory.

Think of it this way. Eleven lost her powers due to trauma in season 3. What if Vecna knew that will had powers, or that he was to develop them soon, and vecna took him to the upside down to plant a traumatizing experience in his memory that would stick with him for the rest of his life. However, some type of power could have stayed, since he is able to sense when vecna is near anytime he is near him, even in a normal state of mind, having a stronger connection than any of the flayed or curse victims.

The first episode of season 5 will be called “the crawl” and vecna says to 11 that “they are not dead” “ they are with me in here” pointing to his head. and max is in his head and that’s why el couldn’t find her with her powers like she did with momma, so I think max is going to escape vecna ( the crawl) anywho dis my theory.
