The 5 year generation is out of style and a thing of the past. The PS4 is about to reach the 10 year mark, the PS3 and 360 generation lasted 8 or 9 years. Switch are selling like hotcakes, I can see Nintendo holding out for another 3 to 5 years due to the fact that it's still a powerful handheld in 2022.

doesn't have to be 4k. i just need a switch that can run games at stable 60fps

Nintendo japan have indicated in the past they may prolong the Switch lifespan unlike previous predecessor. Maybe its due to the Switch console and game sales doing consistently well over the years. Some more PS5 is having chip shortage issues. If they gonna launch Switch 2, Im thinking 2023 will be the earliest.

What is the point of this video? Your personal wishes? There is no news here.

two words: chip shortage. i always assumed the OLED model was SUPPOSED to be the switch 2, but in the end the chip shortage forced them to release it without updated graphics chip. which means it may be some time before they are confident in supply chain to actually give us a true updated model. AND it's still selling well, so they are probably not in a hurry to figure it out.

Oh, wow, a "wishlist" video.
Nintendo has no incentive to invest in new hardware till the end of pandemic. Regular/OLED Switch is scarce enough they don't have to develop new hardware till the end of pandemic.

It's pretty much a given that we will get a new console or an updated Switch in the near future. If Nintendo is smart, it'll be backwards compatible with existing Switch games.
Fixing the Joycon and Pro controllers would be a a must. Fix the drift issues and get analog triggers.
1080p on the tablet and then 1440p (at least) while docked would make sense.
They could have components on the dock itself to enable more performance while in docked mode.

Nintendo Switch 1 is already perfect. No need for Nintendo Switch 2! 😄😃😁😆

They need to keep the system at 720p or 900p undocked with the power going toward fidelity and stability. They may not be able to dock and undock as quickly, but they could use an external mobile GPU in the dock with a thunderbolt port on the switch to swap to discrete graphics while docked. This would also make it possible for a system that doesn’t undock. This isn’t a new idea of course, but it has worked well for me with my Razer laptop and Razer core while I travel for work with a 1060 vs docked at home at my desk with a 3070.

It’s funny how people expect a new Switch or Switch Pro but consoles never did the mid life upgrade before ps4/x1. We all know Nintendo is a company very set in its ways. It doesn’t do the latest tech, doesn’t go all out getting the best 3rd party games, and even does the minimal job on online features. Yet for the last 3 years people keep saying a new Switch model is coming. Then every time it doesn’t they give some excuse as to maybe why it didn’t happen yet. Doesn’t want to compete with the Lite or didn’t want to release a Switch Pro because of chip shortages. So far every industry insider has been wrong. Remember that console generations usually last 7-8 years when successful. The Switch OLED could very well keep the Switch line going for the next 2-3 years. The games keep coming and people keep buying them. Nintendo really has no need right now to drop a new piece of hardware. Especially since it just dropped the Switch OLED.

Make all my digital switch games compatible for the next 2 generations and i'll be happy. So that means the next switch and the other, Nintendo. Please make the right decision. All my digital Steam games are available to me even if they're taken off the store. Keep note..

I want DLSS support, at least 3 TFLOP-performance docked, it doesn't need the removable joy-cons just focus on the power, thermals and ergonomics.

They can still sell the joy-cons seperately for certain games.

👉 It's still a Switch because you can still use it at home or on the go. 👈

128gb SSD storage is a must and remove the SD-slot to standardize loading-speeds faster.

Finally, keep making the system out of the same-plastic but give it a better grip.

It doesn't need to be OLED in the first-model, save that for a premium-model for later.

Price should be $400. Inflation is real.

Switch 2? Not anytime soon. You need to chill with some switch games. Nintendo is doing great. There not in a dumb console war. The xbox series x and ps5 haven't even brought anything to the table to make me even consider buying them. Also if you don't like the joycon controller then get a pro controller for it dude.

It would be nice if they bumped up the processor and 720p handheld is fine no one needs a 1080p at that size, on the tv if it can 1440p would be pretty interesting

I’d really like to see improved graphics, aimed towards open world games, one thing I have noticed with the few open world games that are on the switch (legends Arceus) is the render distance isn’t great at all. I would really want to see a system that can really populate a world, rather than the pretty empty landscapes we have. I am absolutely in love with legends Arceus though.

One thing that annoys me is that the joysticks are not on the same level. I would prefer them at the same level. Kind of like the PS controllers or the Wii U.

I actually think that keeping it at 720p but increasing the refresh rate to 120hz might be a better call. The screen is sharp enough, but the extra smoothness with improved graphics would be great. Also the dock could support it with HDMI 2.1 on new tvs
