He was only sentenced to 1 year because he not only made the bank aware of this, he also turned himself in, which is a plea deal rule (if you turn yourself in and admit to your crimes you get a smaller sentence)

There was also a couple (whose names I can’t remember) went on a long research that tried to find out what paper money was made of. After about a year or so they discovered that while it’s not what it’s made of, but phone book paper passed the marker test where companies will use a specific marker to tell fake money from real money. The couple then bought all the phone books they could, bleached the paper, and printed it in 20’s since that was the easiest to print without having too much of a reason to see the watermark in the bill.

Crazy glitch here: so you show up at the store, then you say the code words “are you hiring” and they’ll go into operator mode, and if you’re lucky they’ll keep you there maybe five days in a week and do what they tell you to, and they’ll just give you money. Straight into your bank account, it’s actually so easy.

For the second one with the ATM, the guy turned himself in three times, the bank didn't call the police (supposably, or the police did get called but didn't care) when he turned himself in to the bank twice, the dude admitted it on public, live news, and stuff.

For anyone curious stealing money without harming others is a white collar crime which not only gives you a small sentence but also a better prison conditions such as television, food, etc

There was a woman who stole like 4bil and got 5yrs in prison. Not to mention he had a form guilt which is a sign of change which explains why it's a year sentence.

Bur don't think this is good bc this is considered a felony and a lot of jobs look into if you had a felony or not.
