#SudokuGuy I noticed while you were teaching this lesson there was an "advanced TMB" situation with the "918" in the middle blocks of the puzzle. I am sure you were aware of that and it was not the focus of the puzzle but I got rather excited that I noticed that from my knowledge from a previous lesson! I also solved the puzzle completely!

Those who say they can do Sudoku puzzles without putting small numbers in are either geniuses - in which case they don't need your help. Or they have not yet got onto the more difficult puzzles. I certainly find that, for the really hard ones, I cannot keep all of the information in my head. Without the small numbers, I would lose track and lose interest.

I have a question about whether I have discovered a true pattern or a coincidence - But am having a hard time describing it. Example - in one box there is a row where the only options in each cell in the row are (189), (18) and (19) i find the box with the three numbers is always the number that could be in any of the boxes in that row in that box, in this case the 1. So the row would be (1) (8) and (9). Does this make sense? Is there a name for this rule? I have a screenshot of a sudoku where this concept happened twice in the same puzzle, I would love to pass it along as I do not thing my typed explanation does it justice!
