Dear Diary,

You ever feel like you've known that someone was the "one" upon first sight? Well that somehow happened to me. So this is how I know I've found Mr. Right tonight.

So you remember my friend, Sonny? The goofy tuff dude that my moms adores and my pops can't stand? The only person aside from Lily who was there for me when I got stuck on 7 mile with those Crazy 8s and some kush. Bad times. Anyway, me and the girls was at the Ford Drive-in, getting ready to see Rebel Without a Cause and Gone With the Wind (gotta love double features), when I saw them pull up in a old Ford pickup I just about ran because of how messy they was being at pulling in to a space. I was on my way to grab some snacks when I saw him in the concessions line. I about died when he turned around and saw me. He was looking positively *sinful* in his denim jacket and work jeans. I could tell he'd been roped into this by the other guys and us ladies were the catalyst for both of us seeing the movies. We chatted about anything and nothing as we got our snacks and somehow we ended up on the roof of Ronnie's truck with a blanket under us. Gone With the Wind had just started, but I just couldn't focus on the movie that I'd seen at least 3 times already. All our focus was on each other. We talked. We laughed at stuff. We ragged on the possible antics of what some of our gang were currently up to in their cars. Ultimately, we both caught each other's gaze and I know I probably licked my lips once or twice in an unconsciously cute way that I've been told I do. Before either of us really were aware of what we were doing, we leaned in close and *kissed*. It started as an innocent like awkward peck...then it turned into a more passionate kiss (short of a make-out). Some could blame the heat of the summer night. Some could blame hormones. Yet the one thing that was certain: This. Was. Too. Long. In. The. Making! When he insisted he walk me home after the movie was over, he admitted that he'd wanted to do that for years and only now acted on it! He asked me if I wanted to be official. If I wanted to be his girl. I, of course excitedly said yes before pulling him in for another, slightly longer kiss outside my front door! Oh diary! Tonight was absolutely bananas! Oh I don't wanna ever forget tonight! Gotta go now. Need sleep.

This music reminds me of an old shop that fixed audio equipment, colorful dusty jukebox in the corner. Last time I took a cassette tape player there to be fixed not too many years ago. The man got one of his old tapes off the shelf to test it. It was this kind of music, just as old as the shop and the man himself. He puts it in the player, plugs it in to his test speakers up high on the wall, and suddenly the room is awash in the warm sounds of '50s love hits. But I don't think the old man was ever married.
