The relationship with your inner being is the greatest love ever. Everything else is a mirror.

Having been with the same person for 32 years, married for 28, I find that we are constantly rediscovering ourselves and our relationship because as humans we arent' static. We have a deeper connection with one another now that our childrearing days are past, and continue to help each other grow into better people.

I think true love is where this is no attachment. You want the best for the other person with no resentment or self centeredness.

I feel like true love is unconditional. No expectations. No labels. No Commitments. No dependents. No ego involved. Peace and acceptance.

Love is often very complicated but the easiest way to not make it complicated is by starting to love yourself and building relationships off having your cup filled as is. This way you find someone who compliments your completeness.

You know you’re in love when you can’t bear to be away from the person. You are filled with awe and you get a weird fluttery feeling in your stomach. It’s freakin amazing and I hope everyone experiences it at least once.

“If you love a flower, don’t pick it up.
Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love.
So if you love a flower, let it be.
Love is not about possession.
Love is about appreciation.”

He sat next to me on a bus and asked my name. 3 days later we were engaged. 27 years of marriage and I wouldn't trade him for all the tea in China. He makes me laugh, he teaches me things, he drives me to distraction sometimes and still I love him more every day. I am thoroughly convinced that our energies were together in other dimensions before this incarnation.

Something I learned from falling in love with someone recently and eventually stepping back enough to see its entirety through a clearer perspective is that loving that person was more about accepting reflections of the aspects of myself I recognised in them. Loving and relating to that person enabled me to embrace the hidden voice of me who wanted to believe in things about myself and life that I couldn't on my own. And as I fell in love with that other person I was also falling in love with what they inspired in who I was by being themself – specifically important personal qualities, personal values and a perspective on life I'd repressed or forgotten.

I've reached a point where I've been able to move on from that person, but the things I learned and grew to love about life and who I am remain secure, and I believe I will always be grateful for that love and that person for those reasons. Romantic love can get a bad rep, especially the vibrant, shorter-lived love of which I'm pretty sure I experienced here (I am young after all), but I've realised that that too can have its wisdoms and benefits when we are self-aware in the process and in hindsight.

“Sounds like an anxiety attack. Sounds like a disorder”

Yep pretty much. I’m in love.

‘Misdiagnosed a spiritual yearning for a interpersonal one’ This one hit me like a truck. It was the first time I have out loud agreed while watching these videos by myself. My mind has been blown today, and for that you have my deepest gratitude.

I can tell I'm falling in love when I find myself inspired to better myself with the other's influence. In other words, I strive to improve myself in order to impress, meet, and grow towards the other.

I realised I truly love, when despite him being dead for over 20 years, I still love, My connection to him was like nothing else I've ever experienced, it was deep and spiritual, sex became something deep and profound, a connection of souls that didn't end when he died.

When I was a 6-year-old child I asked my mother "How do you know if you love someone?" (because I just adored a very skinny red haired and very freckled boy in my grade at school) but I'll never forget my mum, who loved my Dad very much, that you are in love when you care more about the happiness of the other person than you do about your own. Many decades later, I still think that was very good advice.

Expected Russell to say interesting stuff on this subject and haven't been disappointed in the slightest. The act of falling in love is like opening a door. It's only the beginning.
