OMG!! This makes so much sense. I was asked by the new guy I'm seeing if I had ever been to Cuba. My answer, 'No' so now we're planning on this trip later this year. I always make eye contact & often touch his arm or his leg when laughing or telling a story. Soon enough he will move a lot closer to me. He is always asking me what I want to do or what I want for dinner at his place. He does put "Our" time ahead of his friends. I'm 55 so the start of 'Us' is totally different from my past relationships💖

Off topic, Matt, last Father's Day my dad was across the country taking cancer treatments. I told my husband I wanted to see him for Father's Day even though we have several young children. He said okay and we planned a surprise visit. The relative he was staying with picked me up. It was a beautiful thing because I was on the phone with him when I knocked on his door. I was telling him I wanted to get him something extra special for Father's Day(he opened the door) and I could not think of anything more special than myself! He got teary eyed. He is gone now, but I will always remember it. And the man who made it all possible, my husband, who gave up his Father's Day for my dad.

-Grand gestures ( they don't even have to be big) there's usually a story, when I give gifts. The oddest thing, I'd play certain songz describing what I think about him.
- I'd literally tell him how much he means to me & why. I'd make a whole entire conversation about it.
- Ignore certain things that have to do & make the day all about him.

to me it's the little gestures that count so much. unasked by me, he bought me a super large size soda with lots of ice because he knew i'd be working late one night; he bought me a caramel candy bar because he knew i liked caramel; he cranked up a beegees song because i like them; he parked away from the mud so i could get in the truck better; he told me to hang onto the handle so i wouldn't fall getting out; he made me laugh after i shared a painful memory; he follows me in the line and then leads me where to sit; he hands me a napkin and the pepper (and knows i don't use salt); we trade things from our plates that we know the other one would like; he fixes and repairs things around my car and house; and other countless little gestures that tell me he pays attention to me and cares about me.

I'd say...man's love is mainly in small things/gestures. Whoever loved me with grand gestures just turned out to be pleasing their own ego. On the other hand, the man who did every little thing on every little time in every little place went unnoticed for as long as it was necessary for me to understand what the real love truly was.

Little meaningful gifts. After our 2nd date I made him a gift to give him when he dropped me off after our 3rd date. His 9 yo granddaughter had drawn a picture of him in his plane with clouds, the sun, and some birds (he posted it on Facebook). I took it, rendered it in software, and made a heat transfer t-shirt using her art. I think he thought I had handed him a bag of baked goods as he left; on his way home he took it out, and I think he wanted to turn around and come back. He was so surprised and thanked me. I didn't make a big deal when I gave it to him because I wanted to stay cool. His grandkids are his top priority, so i wanted to show that I cared.

I don't fall in love easily, and one of the things that I do if I love someone is that I answer to their texts very fast (something unusual for me), I expess my care and affection, I these them A LOT, and most especially I express it with words (something also unusual for me)

We have a long distance relationship, but every morning, I wake up to several paragrsphs of poetry and love from him. I send him poetry and live too. He tells me that he will always protect me and asks me what little things that I'm looking forward to when we marry. I knew I was fully and completely in love when I whispered a prayer in my head to be silent longer just to truly hear him and let each if his words reach me. Normally I love speaking but not this time . I was thinking ''just shut up and listen! !'' Funny thing he has no desire for me but at the end of the day, it's doesn't even matter because we share so much more. I will never pressure him in anything and listen more than I speak. I will always have his back and never force him to choose. I am happy when he is with friends and I am eager to meet them so we can have a good time all together.
