Mark's dates are confused when he says Let's go clubbing, then proceeds to pull these out from the back of his truck. 😄

Working my way up from your series on training for deconditioned and overweight people. I am at the point where I am doing regular kettlebell work (no ballistic moves yet, but presses, rows, pull over sit ups, and squats mostly) and walking. I'm down over 40 lbs and I have noticed a huge improvement in basic functionality (I can get up off the floor without help again!). The mobility videos have been amazingly helpful as well. I'm not where I want to be yet, but I'm miles ahead of where I was 20 weeks ago when I started. I just ordered my first clubbell and I cannot wait to start the next three exercises. The biggest things that made this stuff stick when nothing else has before were: 1. The fact that I can literally fit my entire gym in a reusable shopping bag (space efficient and doesn'trequire I go somewhere dpecific to exercise), 2. Your advice that I shouldn't be sore the next day from working out (made it easier to be consistent at the start and makes it realistic to fit training inyo my everyday life), and 3. The direct connection between the exercises and my daily functionality. This isn't just training picture muscles, this is making things I need to do in daily life easier or even just possible. Thanks for taking the time to address the needs of this demographic.

Remember seeing a programme about the fibonacci sequence appearing in nature ; art, the golden ratio ( 1 : 1.618.. )

This ratio appears from the shoulder to elbow versus the elbow to finger.

Here Mark points out that the clubs' lengths are this combined distance, the full arms length approx.

The fibonacci sequence is the last two terms added together.

Mechanically efficient, aesthetically pleasing, endlessly interesting :)

Hi Mark, thank you. Quite simply, your advice and presentation is the best.

When I was a boy, we used always carry our hurleys with us. Can also be used as a toy gun - we used to pretend the narrow end was the gun sights.

Really appreciate your channel/perspective on fitness. Club swinging is a phenomenal exercise and an important element of functional fitness. So also are heavy ropes--1 to 2.5 lbs. I am not speaking of rope jumping, although as an ex-boxer I have done plenty of that. I am speaking of rope flow--easily researched and observed on several YouTube channels. The movements are fluid, endless and require a high degree of coordination relating to both sides of the body. If the rope is heavy enough and the speed of rotation is sufficient, the exercises will replicate the benefits of club swinging in my estimation. Thanks and keep up the good work.-Mike.

Those are cool, but that is that metal club you had. That thing looks awesome and lethal.

Nice equipment. I like the way all these items kinda roll together. Back and shoulders are shot from CrossFit Too much too fast. Seeing huge results from clubs. Thanks

Hey Mark, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I loved your videos. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also make highly engaging shorts for you?

Cool club! Really reminds me of the hurley stick for the sport of hurling in Ireland

Wow - the paddle club is very similar to the taiaha - a weapon from the Māori in New Zealand

I thought you were going to strt playing hurling there. Irish sport, you might like it.

I live in Hong Kong. We just don’t have space to swing clubs. At least not indoors. And there’s no back yards. Would a kettlebell halo get the shoulder mobility job done? I know there is less leverage.

That's an Irish hurl Mark. It's used to play the sport hurling.

@Mark Wildman - Just so you know, when the video went live it was unavailable. I would have given up on it (thinking it was taken down), but I saw it in my feed. Don't know what happened, but thought you'd want to know.
