I bought one of these from a local tool store as soon as I saw it! I am a full-time RV'er with several power tools but they all have to fit in my RV storage compartment, so a mitre saw is out of the question. Some of the things I like about this jig (over and above the features you mention):

1. 💖 The saw blade stays at 2" depth regardless of how thin or thick my wood is. I don't have to readjust my blade depth every time the wood changes
2. 👍The cuts are perfectly straight and easily repeatable.
3. 👍I love using it with my cordless circular saw. The whole thing can easily be moved around as a unit,
4. 👍The saw can be left on it in a secure upright position ready for the next cut, or even stored on it in my storage bay when travelling.

I notice that you haven't fully prepared your Crosscut Station. You have only created a kerf on the front blade guard actuator board and on the back board. You have not created a kerf on the baseboard (at least not at the time you filmed the video). That kerf on the cutting base is extremely useful for positioning follow-up cuts and angle cuts. In order to get that kerf on the cutting base, you do need to set your blade depth at 2" and run it through without cutting anything else so the kerf is cut smoothly and accurately. I notice you have chipped the back board where the saw exited. For the benefit of other viewers, that was likely caused by pushing the saw blade all the way through the back board on its initial cut. Pushing beyond the rails can cause a widening of your kerf line.

I've been using mine quite a bit while rebuilding our large elevated deck. Yesterday I cut beveled ends on about 6 dozen balusters almost as fast as I could pick them up and set them aside.

A feature not mentioned is the ability to handle long pieces of lumber. The height of the crosscut station bed is 1 1/2 inches. If you put the crosscut station on a worksurface 8 feet long, you can put 2x4 pieces on either side at whatever distance suits the work and it will let you cut down 8 foot 2x6s or whatever.

Wow. First review up. I was just about to make one of these. I think I'll wait and order this one instead. Perfect for what I need at an amazing price.

Thanks for the great review but what is the maximum thickness of timber that will fit in that jig please?

I am using a 4 1/2 inch blade compact circular saw and it is not touching the base when making cuts.
What is the best solution so my pieces get cut completely through. Thank you kindly!

HI great video, it mentions on their site that it can be used with a jigsaw - are you aware of this as I can't find any videos to use it with a jigsaw? Thanks again

I don't know If I'm understanding how it works exactly. If you cut the front and back fence it looks like you didn't cut deep enough to cut completely through a work piece because wouldn't you have to cut at least to the table of the thing and score a cut though the surface of the table?

I have a old style Festo circular saw. With the blade basically sitting on the outside Left/right of the machine, so no surface on that side to run the sled on. is there a way around this or am I missing something ? Before I go and buy this.
