So true. Convertodoxy on suicide watch.

Read apart from Calvinism, Decree 3 merely gives the universal interpretation of Rom 9 in the Patristics, so this example of @The Other Paul pwnage is kind of embarrassing. The standard interpretation is that God does not choose by what works someone performed but how they will rightly respond to grace by their own free will. There are obvious examples of this, like St Dismas (thief on the cross). There were clearly no works to use as a basis of predestination, but this does not mean that God chose irrespective of how He foreknew the thief would respond to the grace given to believe.

LOL, prot reads his interpretation into Romans 9 which contradicts with other prots who acknowledge it isnt about predestination but corporate election, thinking he's refuted the orthodox statement when all he has done is merely confirmed it.

0:22 But Horus you don’t understand. I saw on the News that Pope Francis wore a Native American hat. And I heard he worshipped Pachamama. 😭😭😭. That’s totally apostasy bro.

I think the tweet was a bold claim that wasn’t really substantiated. But I don’t think Paul’s response was all that strong. I guess it depends what you mean by internal contradiction. There are a lot of things that don’t seem like contradictions but under further examination they are. And there are a lot of things that seem like contradictions but when examined are seen not to be.

This was the great rebuttal to EO? TheOtherPaul is deluded if this is what he considers a great argument.

This is gold. Thanks. Of course there are ways to try and nuance it, but read the text and let it form your presuppositions on the philosophies of will, merit, predestining, and determinism, rather than starting with a list of what God can and cannot do that extrapolates by muting things like Proverbs 16:33 (I cited :11 by accident) or Genesis 50:20, or Acts 2 or 4. God predestines without regard to our merits, and then he gives consequents connected to covenantal conditions. That is, it’s not the strict either-or synergism tries to make it. Monergisn has room for the establishment of creaturely agency earthed than violating it.

I mean the fact that scripture says 1 baptism already puts orthodoxy at odds with scripture
