How to Cut Out Sewing Pattern Pieces - Updated

In order to sew more complicated projects, its important to know how to cut out a commercial pattern. When pulling out the pattern pieces, it can be very overwhelming but this video shows you how to figure out which pattern pieces to cut out for your project. Also included is how to read to the valuable information found on the pattern pieces. Once you figure out how to do this, youll be able to figure out any pattern.

I'm 51. I took home back in high school when I was 14, i made a hoodie with a sewing machine. In my early twenties I drew on that knowledge and made a Santa suit for someone. I needed a refresher on all the things to do with cutting my patterns, this is the first video I picked, and it brought it all back. I appreciate your simple and clear explanation very much. I never cut patterns. Always trace them. Keeps the pattern pristine and reusable for different sizes.

If you have a smooth, hard surface it's much easier and precise to use a razor blade. That's my experience anyway.
