Written in 1900 by Scott Joplin and Arthur Marshall, the Swipesy Cakewalk. I've been playing this piece for years and decided to remake my earlier (and quite abysmal quality) video. Hope you enjoy listening!

Going back for a second look after all these years. The old studio... The old piano sounds great. You're amazing.

This has a nice relaxed ragtime feel with its gently compelling beat. The ebb and flow of dynamics adds variety. Technically perfect, as always.

Hope you still play. This is wonderful. Talent like this shouldn’t go to waste. I’m having my young child play swipesy and found your channel. We do classical but ragtime is a nice break. I hope she gets to your skill level.

The sweet tone of a piano is very difficult to get just right on an electric instrument. Congrats to you...I closed my eyes and couldn't tell that sound from a real piano. Very well played..You really have a gift.

Great playing Christina.  I can tell you really like this rag and you have lots of wonderful phrasing!  You've got the WOW factor.

I'M glad I found you.  You have such grace on Swipe sy that it inspired me to learn it.  I agree, Maple Leaf Rag is more difficult but I do disagree a little.  I think the last section, last line is the hardest one in my folio of ragtime.  I haven't yet mastered it.

About 20 years ago, after ruining great classical music most my life, I bought a Joplin book and this was going to be my first foray into ragtime. Several hours into this piece I'd had enough of this syncopation crap and never touched it again until a couple years ago when I finally learned something else out of that book! I found you just have to keep at it, and suddenly, it actually falls together!

Very well played, particularly like your touch dynamics - reminds me a little of Richard Zimmerman's, which is a good thing cos his playing is top notch.

Nice job :)
I want to play ragtime but I can't decide between this piece and Maple Leaf Rag. In your opinion, which one is easier to play ? Thanks

A bit too fast. Ragtime should be play more slowly but anyway it's a good cover.
