SUV attracts street hails/walk ups like crazy. I did $400 off app on a tuesday. I didn't even turn on any app. I also have gained 2 new clients that love spending on their metal Amex business cards.

My friend, you forgot a big factor. The SUV uses twice the gas as the sedan. That savings adds up quickly. You did the right thing. Keep up the good work!

I'm thinking of getting a black Lexus ES. The thing is, it would nice to have brand new 2023, but a 2020 is half the money, even with low miles.

I’m thinking of getting a Volvo SUV. I work full-time but I do Uber from 3 to 9 Wednesdays and Thursdays three to midnight Fridays and noon till midnight on Saturday. Would it be worth it getting a Volvo SUV? It gets 30 miles per gallon so the gas would be good.

Khush, one question regarding your analysis, the expenses on both cars are really equal?, consider that you travel less in a suv black because you get less rides, so it should be less in overall gas, brakes and general tear and wear than a regular sedan. you may eat up the warranty faster too, after that you may pay additional in coverage for factory related fixes, am I right?. Thank you and keep up your great work

If want to earn your living as a driver, a full size SUV (Suburban, Navigator, Escalade) is the way to go. It's the most versatile. Especially if you are going to go to the trouble and expense of getting your own TCP. Having room to take 6 people and all their luggage is a big deal. XL capacity is a big deal. Especially if you want to transition to driving high end private clients. Which should be your goal if you've gone to the trouble and expense of getting your own TCP. That's where the real money is. Yeah sure, you have your bread & butter rides, to and from the airport and that sort of thing, But the big money is when the high end riders want to go out for a leisure/entertainment night in a group. That's where they'll book you for the entire night 4-6+ hours @ $100-$250+ per hour (it all depends on how well you present & sell yourself and know your worth). Don't make the rookie mistake of letting someone book you for the individual segments of the ride. $50 to take them to the concert, $50 to take them back home, sort of thing. They book you for an entire block of time (2, 4, 6 hours) or nothing.

You pick them up, take them to the restaurant, wait, take them to the concert, wait, take them to the after party, wait, take them home. The difference compared to rides "on-app" is that you're getting paid your full rate (whatever you and your rider agreed on) for the entire night, including all the wait time. But during those "waits" you're putting zero miles on your car. Bonus points if you bring along your laptop and can make some kind of productive use of that time.

Great video Khush. I think we have to ask ourselves, what is the plan and/or goal? If it’s strictly Uber Black SUV or Uber Black, there’s no need to spend an enormous amount of money on a vehicle. If, however, the goal is to move away from Uber and eventually do private, a higher end vehicle would be beneficial.

Let’s take UberX as an example. A Nissan Sentra or Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum can both qualify for the job. The pax just orders a car that’s within their budget. BUT, what happens when the Nissan owner and Escalade owner want to get commercial insurance, permits, and start going after higher end clientele? The Escalade owner has room for growth.

So it really just depends on the goal. This business is scalable meaning you can start with the bare minimum and work your way up to a Rolls Royce Ghost or Cullinan for top-tier clients. Or, a Sprinter or mini bus fleet.

I bought a sedan for part time lyft black/Uber Premier. Do you think I should've got the SUV? I thought I would only get a SUV if I was going to get commercial insurance.

What do you think of Lexus ES hybrid? Don’t get the loss on the gas and still get the higher tier Black benefits

I opened a uber account with personal info. Should I make another right now under my business to use black account or should just continue to get 100 rides under my personal account first to get access to black account

Hi. I’m thinking to trade my 2014 Mazda cx9 for a 2018 Acura MDX. Can I still pick up regular rides with that vehicle or will I be restricted to only xl rides. We live in a town without a reliable taxi service and no bus service.

I'm thinking of buying a 2020 or 2021 FORD EXPEDITION MAX for the dallas fort worth market. What are your thoughts and recommendations? I'm thinking of getting EXPETION because it is the most affordable car. I will only be able to lyft for 8 months. I can open an uber driver account after 8 months because my license has not completed 1 year.
