After all this time, it finally happened. Pro-Projared

That part at the end reminds me of one of the last things my uncle ever told me.

"Being at the bottom of the best still makes you better than the hundreds who couldn't handle it and the thousands who never even bothered to try."

Granted, Uncle Q said it with a lot more swear words but the sentiment is the same.

6:40 - Behind the scenes detail: The opponent that Jared lost to at the end of his qualifier run was likely a stream sniper. Five minutes before the final match on stream, someone came into chat and typed, "!decklist" in an attempt to pull a listing of all the cards Jared was playing from the Untapped Twitch plugin. It was the first message that person had ever typed in Jared's stream, and shortly after they left the chat, never to be seen again. I didn't think anything of it until I remember that Jared was streaming on a 5-minute delay, meaning that at the time they requested the decklist, Jared was actually playing the final game!

Fortunately Jared didn't have the Twitch plugin enabled, so if they really were the opponent they were unable to see Jared's deck list. It's possible they were still lurking on stream after that (just not in chat), though not sure they would get much out of seeing his cards on a 5-minute delay. It doesn't change that they were probably trying to stream snipe for unfair advantages, though.

That is the best way to look at it. You may have finished 30th at the final tournament, but you were there, you qualified for it. Out of the hundreds of thousands of people who play the game and play ranked or strive for that chance, you earned the shot at it that so many are trying to get. There's nothing wrong with that, it sounds like the competition above was still pretty fierce and doing an unfamiliar format doesn't help, and no matter what, you proved you belonged among the best in the world at Magic. It's really cool that you made it that far at all, I'm sure you'll get more chances in the future

Jared the fact you took 1 loss and managed to get 7 w's back to back is cool and you got to play with the big dogs is incredible you deserved to be at that tournament regardless what others say

Magic isn’t really my jam, but you can tell when something means a lot to someone else, and it’s awesome that you made it where you did. It was a good story to listen to. Congrats on placing in the pro category. :) I hope things continue to look forward for you.

Seriously, People can you "oh you shouldn't be there" but Jared come on. you were still 30th out of everyone in the WORLD because it was the first event. They weren't there meaning clearly you are already better than them anyway! So that's amazing in it's own right! Congratz! That is Fantastic! 30th beats everyone who didn't make it so Great job!

I'm sure this means very little from a typical internet denizen, but I am truly proud of you. MTG and DnD are what drew me to your content (aside from the retro game reviews which are also sick) and I'm happy to see you doing well with something you enjoy. Keep it up and as an aside, I'm sure I and many others would love to hear more stories from you from MTG or DnD. (I hella miss DnDecember)

Been really missing these kind of storytime videos! I know its probably not the most popular form of videos, nor it's the more high-effort video format essays and long-form content you usually do, but like your LetsPlay channel, it's always a nice treat and change of pace when you're telling us stories like these regarding things going on in your life!
_(especially goes great with a nice cup of coffee in the morning, hehe~)_
But either way, congratulations on the accomplishment again and always great to see how much this meant to you that was worth sharing with us! Hope to see more story-like videos every so often!

Alchemy. Bruh. What a joke of a format. Sorry for the bad luck with formats.
