I've got a Legion Go & took it on vacation this year, it's a great device but big & cumbersome. I'm very likely to buy the Ally X & sell my Go. My Rom collection is huge that 2280 as standard is a real winner that's 4TB of internal with a 1TB sd card, the only thing I'll need to adjust to is the screen size but it's looking good for me.

I own an Ally, my next handheld can wait until DLSS arrives on handhelds. Switch 2 is rumored to have DLSS so it's only a matter of time before we get quality upscaling/frame gen.

if you buy a Rog Ally X from a retail store like Best Buy, will that store handle any warranty issues and problems? Or no matter what it will always have to go back to ASUS for these things?

I had the Ally, and now I have the Legion Go and the Steam Deck OLED. I really do love the SD and Go but I really wish a company would make one of these with a 8” 1080p or higher OLED screen and make it comfortable to hold. The Ally screen is too small. The Legion Go screen is amazing but it’s too heavy and uncomfortable. The SD is only 800p and it’s hard to set up to play windows only games. The MSI Claw 8 AI looks pretty cool but I don’t think it’s OLED. Just waiting for the perfect handheld but it feels like it’s a long ways away.

The ROG Ally X is worth it for me but it is really up to the consumer. Is upgrading a phone every year worth it, to some yes others no. If you don’t have any handheld it’s a def go. The changes made to this mid cycle refresh were needed and should’ve been this way from the start, no different from the OG steam deck which IMO wasn’t worth it. The price is higher however when you look at the product as a whole, the expense is relative. I will be selling my Oled steam deck as the upgrades now are worth it from my og ally that I returned. The larger battery much improved armory crate and the other things mentioned are worth it and comes standard with 1tb ssd. I want a place for all my games and unfortunately steam deck for me doesn’t cut it with all the hoops and work arounds.

The display is great on my Oled but the 16:10 aspect ratio sucks when 90 percent of games don’t support it and end up with less screen real estate or a stretched image. The reason asus doesn’t have an Oled is because no company is making small VRR Oled panels so I’ll def take the 16:9 aspect high quality LCD with 1080p and VRR.

Aside from initial set up on the ally taking about an hour or so while docked and hooked up to a kbm and monitor I really never used windows so it’s not a big deal. I have a built high end 4k gaming desktop and windows literally just copied my profile over and I uninstall anything I don’t need on my hand held. Both are great devices and fit whoever’s needs. I’ll be purchasing through Best Buy so I don’t have to worry about any RMA issues.

Asus has its problems but I'm satisfied and have the lenovo legion go and steam deck

W Vid! Very well stractured. Could be a great device for first time handheld pc buyers. Still debating myself whether or not I should get one for YT purposes as i am currently an owner of SD, LEGO, and OG ALLY. Loving my LEGO right now so its tough justifying another $800 purchase. Very nice preview - good quality editing and presentation. I'll still go Steam Deck OLED when I finally get a handheld though... Unless Microsoft knocks it out of the park with the rumored Windows 11 Handheld mode.
