CAR LOTS ARE EMPTY: What Happened To All The Inventory?

I have noticed, over the past month, that the inventory keeps going down on the car lots but it isn't being replenished. I believe that we are seeing the ripple affect from all the auto manufactures shutting down for weeks because of the pandemic. We probably won't see the inventory start go back to normal until the first of the year. Used car inventory is down because people are hanging onto their cars and waiting to see if they will be financially safe in the near future. Not only was this the year of a major pandemic but we are also in an election year which usually affects production and most companies are very conservative and play it safe. 2021 models are beginning to trickle in but there are still a lot of empty spaces on car lots.
