Back when those four lads from #liverpool first got together they really were just lads. #johnlennon was only sixteen and #paulmccartney and #georgeharrison were fifteen and fourteen years old when they joined. As for the name #thebeatles . They didn't start off calling themselves that.
They originally went by #johnyandthemoondogs and then changed it to #thequarrmen before settling on the name The #beatles , which was a nod to #buddyholly and the Crickets.

Actually started as The Quarrymen, then Johnny and The Moondogs, Then briefly The Nurk Twins (John & Paul), Long John and The Silver Beatles, The Silver Beatles and finally The Beatles.
