I just watched a video about a guy who lost his face due to bread mold. This can’t be a coincidence

Mold in and of itself is one of the few things that keep me up at night, and kind of makes me want to gorge on food to keep from molding. It's also why I am always alert on those expiration dates

I once lived with a roommate who knew about a water leak in his closet but didn't tell anyone about it. After he moved out we discovered dinner plate sized mushrooms in the carpet.

No they were not magic.

I wonder how many potential food creators got sick or died experimenting with which mold to use to get a exquisite flavour over the past centuries?🤔😬

My new girlfriend is called Mold. I didn’t like her at first but she’s really growing on me now.

you'd have to either eat a lot of bad mold all at once or for a long period of time for it to do any serious damage. Diarrhea isn't usually a severe health problem, anything can give people diarrhea. I wouldn't recommend eating mold but I would suggest that they don't panic if they accidently ate a small portion of it on their bread or something, just drink lots of water and it should flush out.

With me with a severe mold allergy I have to be extremely careful especially with moldy food. Some cheeses made with molds I just can't eat Stilton, Blue Cheese etc.
After this I don't regret not being able to consume them as some how I feel the precautions might save me from some funky illness.

The thumbnail reminds me of something quite, let's just say, disturbing.

There is an exception to not cutting off the mold and eating it the rest of the food. Hard cheeses are the exception. If you cut off the mold for hard cheeses, it is prefectly ok to eat the rest of it.

I worked taking care of an elderly woman once when I was in Uni as a means of making some extra cash, and her son was always there when I took care of her. The house had a huge stank of mold and humidity.... I could never even drink a glass of whatever there cause everything was just so badly kept. It was so bad, the son's breath also smelled of mold. Don't ask me how or why.... maybe it was all the kitchen utensils that he used that had mold, I have no idea. I even caught him one day just out of it and talking to himself on multiple occasions. He even admitted to this, just saying it was natural to him. Oh and the shoes he would wear... you could just see any dent and lining on them just filled with mold. I felt so bad for him, apparently he was a retired accountant and lived alone with his mother who was in her 90s and far gone with dementia and he too had lost it, becoming isolated in this house. I can't imagine just being with your mom at 60 every single day and you yourself start losing control of your own mental health. Truly the most unhygienic place I have ever been and the saddest work environment. I left after his mother died a month or two later. I few years later I saw him on the subway. How did I know? I smelled a really strong smell of mold and when I looked around I saw him sitting there staring at me. Never saw him after that. I always wondered what happened to him if he digested the mold in anyway....

The beginning of the video almost happened to me earlier today. The bread looked perfectly fine, but as soon as I put it in my mouth it tasted mouldy and I spit it out. Death averted.
