You can call yourself whatever you want, the real world doesn't care.

I believe it's as simple as that: you can dress however you like. If people misgender you out of spite, they're a-holes. But if you lash out at people who are making an honest mistake, you're an a-hole. It goes both ways and people who don't regularly interact with you can't see your pronouns floating above your head. Always be kind first ❤

my masculine and feminine expression in terms of clothes changes a lot. i am a girl and when i wear more masculine clothes i don’t think “i’m dressing as a man” like bro i’m just dressin, we just slayin

Fabric has no gender. It’s a piece of fabric. It’s a ton of little fibers woven together and is worn by people who want to wear it because that person thinks it looks nice. Whether it be something feminine or masculine, something cultural, something revealing or modest, we should always support what people choose to wear as long as they are happy and not hurting anyone.

Don’t forget not to get offended when someone misgenders you when you switch pronouns every week.☺️

I and many pepole belive that yes, you can dress however you want ”to a degree”, but if you chose to dress more feminine you cannot expect pepole to adress you by what you belive to be the appropriet pronoun.

As a rather feminine trans guy myself, this makes me feel so much better <3 I don’t wear the clothes that would make me happy in public because I know I won’t pass in them. I hope one day I won’t have to hide my real self from the world

Gender identity is not gender expression, and neither pronouns nor dress are an accurate indicator for identity. Always remember that no one’s being hurt by your dress or your pronouns or your name! That’s your business and only yours and others should respect that.

This makes so happy as a non-binary person! Someone I knew said I didn’t look like I use they/them pronouns, and I was speechless, lol! You can’t look like you use they/them pronouns, but it doesn’t matter if it “looks” like you do!

Your choice, but don't get mad when other people are confused on what you are

I had my own moment of celebrating queer joy today! I was talking to one of my directors for the play I’m in when she suddenly asked me what my pronouns were. I told her they/them, and she said she’s do her best to remember since I hadn’t corrected her from using she/her in the past. Then we continued to talk about how I generally give adults a free pass with my pronouns because a) I don’t care enough to correct them, and b) I understand that because it wasn’t common when they were growing up, soI try to have grace with them. She said she was appreciative of that but thinks we should be trying to get better about it, and it was the most heartwarming and validating experience I’ve had in quite a while <3

That may be the case for people who know you, but just don't feel angry or blame strangers for not calling you your "preferred" pronouns because you're dressing as a woman and people will immediately think you're a she/her. You can't fault people for that.

It's always bothered me that people say clothes have genders, so it's always lovely hearing someone who thinks like me. Stay proud.☺️

I couldn't agree more !! If you see this comment and you're trans too, your identity is valid, no matter what you look like, what you wear or what makeup you use. It took me a lot of time to find people who loved me and accepted me for who I am but now I'm finally starting to be happy, and it is priceless.
Anyways, live your truth !
