Think about it. That pilot line for new batteries is already producing enough to support model S production. They are already committed to the new battery for the plaid model S. It makes more sense to amalgamate the line to the new architecture, than it does to supplement on a per unit basis. Which means a huge reduction in cost/kWh for the car. Oh and btw? That one piece casting for the Y will undoubtedly make its way into the rest of production of the next 18 months as well. Tesla is bringing additive manufacturing to the automotive industry in a big way.

This market competition among EVs is a good sign this segment will be coming of age in the next 5 years

I've read that F1 really only costs MB about 16 million after sponsorships, prize money, engine sales etc... so them pulling out doesn't make any sense, that 16m is money well spent for advertising. And the cut to costs isn't just something MB is doing, cost cutting is part of F1's new concorde agreement for all teams in the coming years.

The Lucid is so much more car than the Tesla S.

The Lucid looks better than the Tesla. The Tesla needs a redesign. It's getting old.

Big error on the Mercedes F1 savings. Merc corporate only contributes about €50M. The rest is financed through sponsorships. Merc gets a huge ROI for only €50M in terms of marketing and brand image.

Honda/Acura: Look we can put a bend in a hood!
Tesla: We are making a single piece rear end assembly that attaches to the battery as a structure.
When will Tesla learn to build cars the "right way"?

I dunno... if I want a car I buy a car. If I want an SUV I buy an SUV. Whether or not the car has stamped lines on the hood doesn't mean a thing. I go for safety, reliability, MPG and price.
In fact, I now wonder if my Honda Accord, which I bought new seven years ago, has stamped lines on the hood??? (I'll check the next time I drive it).
True story.

Just a reminder, Fuel Cells can and do use fuels other than Hydrogen....

Lucid is a nice car but they have to start making a few before i would consider them competition.
Show me a EV company selling 300.000 + EVs a year (you know who) Then i would consider them compitition.

Touching or covering the mouth or nose while making a statement of fact is often a 'tell' for someone being less than truthful.
But sometimes it's just an itchy nose. This one set off my Spidy Sense 7:34

By the time Lucid releases the 69k Lucid Air (after federal taxes) in 2022, Tesla will have a 600 miles Tesla Model S for $65k. Love having more EVs on the road and Lucid seems like a fantastic car, but Tesla is not going to make it easy for them to win market share.

This is difficult to implement sudden price cut in legacy automakers because of delaership mark-up but not impossible

Lucid knows who they are going after. They are a Luxury car maker and they are priced like that. Tesla, pretends to be luxury, but really are not. Their impetus has been to just push ever more advanced technology to the point the actual car becomes rather immaterial. Now Tesla is going to have to pit their technology against ever more cars who know who they are after. Tesla will soon have to choose a target an aim at that.

Its really funny this channel keeps showing autonomous tech Tesla has long since moved on from.

Buying a Tesla is becoming similar to shopping on Amazon - browse something at 9am, it's one price, look again at 9pm, it's another...

It shows AUTOLINE NETWORK it shows. Getting paid by the autoindustry and no objectiv opinion. It shows. U discribe Tesla's Model S and the Lucid CrAip like an Iphone is the same as a halfprice chinesephone. Yes both come from china but Tesla does have more features then just more speed then the Lucid CrAip. What are Ur sponsors again AUTOLINE NETWORK? 😊 👍

F1 teams will experience budget cuts in general due to the new rules, and there are rumors that Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team is almost cost neutral for Daimler because of the sponsorships.

7:05 Acura has its priorities, and they are not performance related.
Try to imagine @Tesla spending its resources (of which it has far more than any LAM) to add styling flairs in order to gin up sales.

The only people that really pay for the emissions fines, is the customers that buy these cars. Manufacturers recoup the fines by increasing the price of the vehicles, it's that simple
