This business model is over a hundred years old. The Model T ford originally cost over $850 when it debuted but Henry Ford got the price to under $300 after his company was profitable.

So, I purchased a used 2020 Model Y September of 2022. I did my homework. I wanted a car with FSD. I found this car, it's just a long range. I figured, I saved $7500 at the time of purchase from a brand new one. Not even 6 month later, I lost $30, 000 of value. This is according directly from Tesla. I asked them last month what trade in value was... $37k, including FSD. You see, FSD is a joke even to Tesla. There's no way I could've lost $30k of value over 6 months... But folks, the screwing is real. I'll be sure to remember this when I go vehicle shipping again.

Thank you, Tesla, for cutting your prices. Most people can’t afford the initial price. The cut will now allow common household to buy the car too. It’s not all about the rich. The price needs to come down more.

The 1st victim of the Tesla price cuts is VW ID4 which is now higher than the Model 3 Long Range model!! And remember VW ID4 comes with horrific software and slow charging.

Price cut is good for the general public . And for the existing customer and second hand used is depreciation in value . I think easy accession to the people is more advantage to with.

Tesla raised prices excessively during Covid. They were way too expensive.

They are still profitable with the price cuts. They are trying to consolidate the car market just like Android, iOS and Windows Mobile consolidated the cellphone market. In theory we should see just 4-5 car brands at the end of the day, like Toyota, VW, Tesla, BMW and Mercedes Benz.

No Buy Out option at end of lease! That’s a total deal breaker for us. We would buy both a Model 3 AND Model Y today if there was an end of lease buy out like every other car manufacturer.

So I'm thinking that if you paid top dollar for your Tesla you'd be a little annoyed at having the price drop. People who are buying at the reduced price would be happy though. How does the price drop affect used car valuations though?

We almost bought the BMW X5 plug-in with crazy markup or the Lexus RX plugin with markup but ended up ordering Tesla MYLR because Tesla’s technology, price chops and more importantly Elon Musk for leading the way and his bravery ….. No more visiting gas station!!😂😅😊… O wait, I still have some ICE vehicles 😢😢
