The bond selloff triggered by the UK autumn budget has tempered the outlook for the housing market. Bloomberg Economics is now forecasting that house prices will rise 4% by the end of next year, but the pace of growth is expected to be bumpy. How are they going to rise??? I earn more than twice the average UK wage and can only just afford a small house in a low income area. I won’t buy because my life would only consist of eating, sleeping, sitting and dedicating in it. The country is fckd and I would do anything for a quick and sharp financial crisis with no government intervention to reset things.

House prices have been decreasing, £46, 000 reductions on detached homes. Houses are taking far longer to sell and they're selling for less than advertised. There are new houses in our area for £650K-£1M+ aren't selling at all. Stamp duty rise has killed a lot of it and the uncertainty in the job market. Companies aren't hiring or expanding, retail has declined again etc etc.

First time buyers have no chance unless they inherit. Those are the lucky ones. Those that aren't so lucky are at a point now where there is little hope. The economy relies on workers and when there is no hope for them the workers will stop giving two hoots, and that is when the economy grinds to a halt as it is in the UK. I would expect little to no growth over the next decade or so in the UK

As someone who has held out for years on buying a house and listening to news of a potential crash in property prices, my advice is just buy one now if you can, dont wait.

We've been seeing house prices going down slowly where we live in The North West of England. I dunno where they are getting the idea prices are rising?🤔

I think house prices will stay the same throughout 2025 but simply take longer to sell on average.

It's not the value going up, it's the denominator going down.
Fiat proliferation is policy.
