I get the vibe of a kid being like family to an older wise guy. They appreciate each others company. The adult knows how the world works and the end. The youth is filled with energy and optimism. Telling about how they will be together always. Yet the adult knows its not to be. Yet appreciates the temporary belief they will. The youth is not blind for truth and the adult not a pessimist. They still can enjoy. Even with knowing it be temporary and not matter in the grand scheme.
