Recall of infant formula after one child dies and others became sick

There are three different types of formula made by Abbott which is voluntarily recalling them.

In the 30s and 40s, 80% of bottlefed babies were given canned evaporated (full fat) milk as formula.
Recipe: 13 ounces (1 can) evaporated milk, 19 ounces sterile water, 1 ounce Karo syrup (clear type).
Goat's milk was given to babies allergic to cow's milk.
Liquid baby vitamin drops (with iron) was given daily with this formula.
I think we were the healthiest generation.
