In the 30s and 40s, 80% of bottlefed babies were given canned evaporated (full fat) milk as formula.
Recipe: 13 ounces (1 can) evaporated milk, 19 ounces sterile water, 1 ounce Karo syrup (clear type).
Goat's milk was given to babies allergic to cow's milk.
Liquid baby vitamin drops (with iron) was given daily with this formula. Our minerals came from our water.
I think we were the healthiest generation.

This is awful. I’ve had 3 boys, breastfed two . But I could only produce so much for so long . I was left with no choice but to buy formula . They should be dependable ! This formula is actually linked to causing 3 different types of respiratory infections, meningitis being the worst .

Sad and scary to happen to an innocent newborn. I wish more mothers would choose breastfeeding. It's what God intended. 🙏
