Hi Eric,
I'm kind of new to randonneuring, but cycle for a really long time, and thank you for your videos!
After investing in a gore tex shakedry jacket this fall I highly recommend checking one out. Its really breathable and so I find myself using it as a wind breaker as well. Looking forward to see you in PBP 2023. 😉
Greetings from Germany!

Eric, i'm really enjoying your videos. This year is my first PBP attempt and your content is super helpful to get familiar with what to expect. As a Seattle-ite we ride in the rain frequently and i agree with your thoughts on jackets. they are useful to keep wind and main precipitation from getting to skin, but you'll get damp no matter what, either from sweat or rain. i choose to focus on being warm when wet (or damp). Wool is really the best. Then I focus on extremities, feet and hands first, arms next, legs last. If upper body, hands and feet stays warm, legs can be exposed to rain with limited impact (at least in the summer months.) i've yet to find shoe covers that keep feet dry also, hence wool socks.

video idea - can you talk about pacing and how much your speed drops over the 1200 km? i've heard that your average moving pace falls by 10% to 20% between the first 400km and the last 400km. what has been your personal experience?

hope to say hello at some point on the road to Brest!

Another awesome video. As an avid cyclist I love them but even more so as I am looking at joining a local randonneur club

Hi Eric. Great video series, really enjoying and appreciate the advice and tips. Would you be able to talk about the process of actually signing up? Its still not clear to me how to apply, do I need to fill forms? where do I send them? Also, would love to see what kit you bring on a ride like PBP.
Thanks again.
