This is a general path on what your experience learning Godot might be. You may run into problems along your way, like not knowing what to do and not being able to find other tutorials, but this video is created to help you find those guides and use the Godot documentation.

I started learning Godot a month or two ago and I really loved the GDQuest Learn to Code From Zero with Godot. I can't recommend that course enough, it was very well done. I also watched the HeartBeast action RPG video series which was also good. I think between those two you get a really firm grasp on how to make stuff in Godot and get familiar with the most used node types.

As a beginner the hardest part right now is my ignorance in scripting. Being completely new to GDscript and using 4 instead of every tutorial using 3.5 is rough. What’s even worse are all the tutorials that don’t explain how anything works! It took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out how to send values from one scene to another. Today I almost finished a flappy bird remake, and I’m pretty proud about it. Hope to be making interesting games soon

Definitely still a beginner. Only opened it a couple times. More experienced with Unity, but after the incident I jumped ship. Gonna take another swing and see if I can build something in it today.

Another good tutorial series if you want to start using Godot 4 is Heartbeast's Heart Platformer series. It's what got me into Godot 4 and gives a really good overview of the basics of making games.

Tried a lot of different game engines(unity, unreal, game maker, even consctruct and etc), and couldn’t find a descent one for me. And i couldn’t even work on godot for the first time i opened it. Then i gave another try with it, tried to get deeper in all this node and scenes stuff and saw pure beauty in this game engine. Then i tried to do some simple games(2D and 3D) mastering godot and learned it pretty well. Currently i am working on my own 3D big game and enjoy using godot every single second of it. All i can recommend is give godot some time to show itself and i can assure you that you won’t be disappointed.

also i would like to tell that with godot 4 coming i personally think we almost won’t need another game engine as godot’s 4 3D graphics is just mindblowing and 3D graphics was nearly the only problem comparing godot to something like unity.

Came from a different engine so I was pretty cocky when trying to pick up Godot, Turns out I had no idea how to use the engine at all nor did I know how to code in it.
This video actually helped put me in my place.

When learning anything you've just got to start from the beginning.

I'm a beginner who has dabbled with both unreal and unity and kept hearing lots of good things about Godot. I've been mostly using unity but the launcher is so annoying figured may as well give Godot a shot.
