Compute a mean score in SPSS

Compute a new variable which is the mean score of 2 or more variables using SPSS. This technique is often used to reduce the number of variables from a questionnaire.

Thank you for this video, and i have just a question after this step of mean calculation, about:

- How can i calculate the total means of each axes of items in the questionnaire ? 

In other word, if i have 04 axes of items in my questionnaire, i want to calculate the means of responses for each one, in order to make other test calculations like (correlation).

Hello, thank you for this video. I have a dataset of companies and I want to calculate means of monthly salariy and create a new variable. I have companies unique identifier, thus for the same unique identifier I might have different means for corresponding employees. I tried to split the file by it seems that I didn't manage to have one mean per unique identifier.
