An aluminum ion conversion kit for existing Tesla vehicles and golf carts would add value to the used EV market. The whole EV market will not survive and thrive unless the move to a universal battery (like in the golf cart market) occurs and customers of EV’s can feel secure that there is extended ongoing value in the vehicles they are convinced to purchase.

If this tech is in the lab now, I'm confident it will make it to production, because Elon is a doer, and not just a talker. HOWEVER, scaling to production could easily take five years. I don't know if I *have* five years, but wish Elon all the best with this endeavor.

Where did it announce it officially? You're just making news up. Two years ago many "tech youtubers" were saying the Tesla model 3 Highland will come with the new improved LFP, called LMFP battery
