Thanks. I tried to watch a Christmas DVD, in December, but it wouldn't play. I was actually looking for a used DVD player when I decided to do an internet search for a solution. One link said to rip and convert the movies with software. This was much easier, so now I'm watch the Grinch in mid-February.

Does your TV not upscale???
Seriously, I've never seen a TV _not_ stretch lower-res images!
Or does the TV usually do its own upscaling and the PS3 just did a small window on a full HD signal?

PlayStation 2 and XBOX (2001) can play DVDs only, PS3 can play Blu Ray and DVD
