"The Little Mermaid" visionary filmmaker Rob Marshall's live-action reimagining of the studio's 0scar®-winning animated musical classic, opens exclusively in theaters nationwide May 26, 2023. "The Little Mermaid" is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton's daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life and her father's crown in jeopardy.

I love that they added this song and that it explores both her excitement on getting to explore land personally and her nervousness about whether Eric will ever return her feelings.

This was one of the best songs to the little mermaid, I laughed when she tried to eat the soap in this scene. Also I like the fact they let Halle do songs for the little mermaid who was the perfect choice as Ariel, this was just a song singing in her head after giving her voice away but you can tell by her facial expression on how life on land is and what she's experiencing.

I love this song so much!! This is hands down my favorite song of the movie. I’m glad this was added!!

One of the reasons I like this movie is because I find this song incredibly relatable. When I moved from California (leaving everything and everyone I knew behind) to Pennsylvania, I had a goal in mind. However, when I got sharply rejected from it, I was torn apart and almost everything from 4:33 was exactly how I felt. However, the longer I stayed, wonderful things have been happening: driving for the first time, singing publicly, great jobs, cooking freely, exploring with little to no restrictions, and been in a few plays! Still hoping to reach that goal, but so far it's become minor compared to everything else. This song gives me flashbacks.

2:23 is so sad. It really puts this longing to fit in where you don't, and what you're willing to sacrifice/lose to fit. Like Cinderella's sisters cutting off toes to try and fit in the slipper.
The song is beautiful though, especially the progression at the climax.
