Halle was amazing in this role! She really gave Ariel the vibe of a teen desperate for a great adventure in her life. There's just so much raw emotion in this version that elevates it from great to fantastic. Her talent when it comes to high notes is insane!

I grew up on the little mermaid, and I always saw Part of Your World as a purely 'this is advancing the plot' song, and nothing more. It took this version to make me realize that it's also meant to be a relatable song to those who find themselves trapped around people and places that don't 'get' them, and that fervent desire to find a place where you belong. The pure excitement all throughout this song, and the cold return to reality at that high note in the end are absolutely incredible, it feels less like a ballad and more like someone truly singing about their thoughts and feelings and I think that's really nice
