Every Tesla sold used is one less Tesla sold new

One minor correction. Premium connectivity does NOT let you download updates, the car has to be connected to WIFI for that. What premium connectivity does do is let the infotainment system connect, allowing for streaming media and map updates. If you buy it by the year it's $99, and worth every penny.

The other side of every sale is the buyer. The fact that there are thousands of willing buyers for those Teslas speaks volumes.

I bought a model 3 last year and this is my first Tesla, and I am planning to buy a refreshed model Y by the end of this year! Driving an EV is so fun, I do not think I would go back to gasoline vehicles

This video misses the point: a car is, to some extent, a status symbol. It's not about taking money away from Elon, that is indeed not accomplished by selling your Tesla. It's about driving a car that you like and are comfortable in.

If you don't feel negatively towards the Tesla brands then good for you. But many people do. And it's not about Elon's money.

Tesla's amazing! Brilliant business plan. So glad I bought shares pre-split.

My 10 plus year old Acura was in the shop for a week so on a whim I rented a Tesla thinking I wouldn't like it, it was great I don't know what people were talking about.

And people are curious how 1940 europe, soviet or china happened.... so gullable for propaganda its insane.
Imagine loving someone for making things go green for "saving the environment " but being mad when you want to save a bankrupt country... sad

Sorry to blast the party, but so far, you're ignoring the elephant in the room. Tesla doesn't only sell vehicles in the US. In Europe and China, Superchargers are just optional because public charging exists and is not just another network. You don't need "premium connectivity" and outside of the US, there is also a "right to repair" so Tesla has to provide parts and instructions and emission pooling is getting less lucrative. Every Tesla sold used is another Tesla that's not bought new; every Tesla sold lowers the market value of used Teslas, making them harder and more expensive to finance. So it's either more expensive to lease a new Tesla or to finance a new Tesla for the end customer or Tesla loses money either with expired leases or by offering discounted financing options. And you need these factories running at at least 70% or you quickly "dig your own grave" by producing (not enough) cars. That's already the case with the CT and probably also with Models S/X.
And you forget the nose-dive that Tesla sales recently made. With current sales figures in Europe, it's not nearly enough to keep GF4 production at scale without losing money at scale. A lot of Tesla's future lies in the hand of China and their goodwill with Elon. Energy storage is critical infrastructure and the question is who wants to give Elon direct control over this. The same goes for "home robots". If you want to create a new business model, you have to gain potential customer's trust. Good luck with that.

Elon has said multiple times, publicly, that the government should stop subsidizing the construction of charging stations. Everything else sounds like absolutely brilliant business decisions.

Exactly why I'm against Carbon Credits. It pays for the old models to keep getting made and sold.

Being allowed to buy regulatory credits is insane 😂

I am perfectly ok with this business model because in the old business model with legacy auto, dealers make money from servicing your car and selling parts. Here is a list of common ICE vehicles maintenance and repair items that EVs simply do not have: oil change, coolant flush, timing belt/chain, serpentine belt, air intake filter, transmission fluid flush, transmission rebuild, fuel filter etc etc

Ok give Elon back his cars and let him deal with it's not just a car it's over priced junk 💯

The credit is only for the original car sale . Each time the car is sold it doesn't create another credit. As fewer cars are sold, the fewer credits that tesla has to sell . Nice try, fanboy. Your con man hero is about to have his house of card fall apart.

Tesla doesn't earn additional money when someone sells one of their vehicles, unless the buyer purchases additional features like the ones you mentioned. Their revenue from that vehicle would stay the same as if the owner didn't sell it to someone else. If this doesn't affect Tesla's sales of new EVs, then a Tesla EV owner selling his EV doesn't hurt Tesla, but if many people choose to buy a used Tesla EV, rather than a new one, and it cuts into their sale of new vehicles, then it will hurt Tesla. In addition to losing the sale of new vehicles, it will also reduce the amount of revenue Tesla receives from selling EV credits.

What you say seems too nice for me, it doesn't really correspond to reality, Tesla shares are falling, sales of Tesla cars are falling, storage of unsold cars is starting to give a problem, Chinese, Korean and European competition is rubbing their hands and Tesla is no longer in first position in terms of quality-price ratio, plus innovation at Tesla is on standby! The image damage caused by Elon Musk on the Tesla brand has just begun. For my part, I have a Model Y and I'm not very happy with it, it's as uncomfortable as possible and despite the supposedly incredible trunk volume sold by marketing, my old Kia station wagon is still necessary to transport bulky equipment!

What you just described as the Tesla model of “add-ons” paying for software upgrades etc, is most definitely NOT the Apple model. Apple do not charge for OS software updates etc. With Tesla, you’re paying extra just to make the product work adequately.
