American here, they’re both used interchangeably so you don’t really have to keep this in mind.

Edit: I know they technically have different definitions, just in US English, nobody’s gonna care about it in common speaking

She makes things up. They’re essentially interchangeable terms.

This isn’t really true though? At most different areas in the US will do it different or use one word more than the other but they are pretty interchangeable

I say "Can you take out the trash?" when our kitchen garbage can needs to be emptied. The two words are interchangeable in the U.S.

Funfact: Marina said that the t-shirt is garbage..
But she instantly Wore it 😂😂
I must suggest her to speak this at last example 😀.. then she can wear and no one could point out
Agree??

I would say that "garbage" implies filth or dirtiness. "Trash" implies the object is not especially dirty, but isn't desirable either. Dirty paper plate is garbage, balled up scrap paper is trash.

Gonna be honest, as a native speaker...I have never known any difference between the words. If you see plastic bottles on the beach, you're just as likely to hear someone say "Why do people leave their trash everywhere?" as "Why do people leave their garbage everywhere?"

I love your videos Marina. One question: you said “garbage” is everything that comes from the kitchen or bathroom, right? So why the t-shirt is garbage and not trash? 🙃
