GAME OF THRONES Voice Actor Flips Out

A man is pushed to his limits in a stressful work environment in this comedy sketch, and in this way, we are reminded of the fictional history of Westeros in which “Mad King” Aerys Targaryen pushed the Seven Kingdoms to their respective limits with the brutal execution of Lord Rickard Stark and his son Brandon which, alongside Prince Rhaegar’s abduction of Lyanna Stark, led to the events of Robert’s Rebellion and the end of the centuries-long Targaryen dynasty. Like many aspects of the events in A Song of Ice and Fire and HBO’s Game of Thrones adaptations, these characters share similarities to real-world counterparts. The Mad King’s descent into madness and his undignified end echo the life and times of Caligula, the Roman emperor born Gaius Julius Caesar Germanicus, whose tyrannical rule of cruelty and sadism ended with an assassination conspired by his own Praetorian Guard and senators, not unlike the Mad King’s death by the sword of Jamie Lannister, head of his Kingsguard.
