I’m so glad that Chris Chibnal decided to destroy Galifray off screen, right after we finished an almost 10 year long arc of bringing it back, instead of actually using it for new and interesting stories set on a world that hasn’t been explored in recent years. Very good. Big brain writer

the way new who structured the reveal of Gallifrey was genius. It started with Eccleston being tearful and internalizing his anger and sadness whenever he thinks of Gallifrey, then Tennant speaking of how magnificent and awe-ful Gallifrey was. He reveals in his last days that Gallifrey became corrupt and tyrannical in the last days of the war. Then Matt Smith came. Matt Smith's was particularly interesting because he never truly brought up what Gallifrey was like, just how much he missed it. Hurt was the side of the Doctor that caused new who's sorrow and pain at the thought of Gallifrey. Finally, Capaldi. Capaldi got us the most information of the Time Lords in new who. Rather than a literal doctor, the man is treated as a war hero and a legend, status that he earned rightfully for his species.

The piece of music that plays at the start, during the Tenth Doctor’s amazing monologue and that chilling montage - called This Is Gallifrey, Our Childhood, Our Home - is so beautiful! It brings a tear to my eye even to this day. Murray Gold was one of the best things this show had the honour to experience.

It's really sad how in the third doctor William Hartnell only appeard on a tv screen because he was too ill to move around or do pretty much anything he really loved being the doctor and apparently was really upset about leaving aswell

He's too old! He's too fat! He's too thin! He's too young! Sounds like the second Doctor is talking about the 12th, 6th, 10th, and 11th Doctors if you ignore the pictures.

Gallifrey doesn’t feel like Gallifrey anymore without the Murray Gold theme

20:36 More evidence to the "Doctor chooses his faces based on people he sees" theory. THE 6TH DOCTOR IS STANDING RIGHT THERE!!

"This is Gallifrey" by Murray Gold is one of the most incredible, tasteful pieces of music in Doctor Who. I love how it begins with such elegance and majesty but then it swells to the point of being quite aggressive and almost evil sounding, just like the Time Lords themselves. You can even slightly hear the Daleks' theme incorporated towards the end, signifying their downfall.

Funny because out of Eleven, Ten and the War Doctor out of all three; Eleven is the youngest actor out of the three but the oldest Doctor.

Remember when The Sound of Drums premiered and we were all like “Finally they showed us Gallifrey they way it was always meant to look”. Now it looks super basic compared to the advanced and way more elaborate cgi models we’ve gotten in later series.

He said he doesn't deserve to be called the Doctor, but the War Doctor probably deserves it more than any of the others...

Are you kidding me? I've just gone on a search for all the CGI clips of Gallifrey and just as I finish it, you upload this XD

Patrick Troughton was such a brilliant Doctor. An actor well ahead of his time, his whit and humour even being shadowed by David Tennant and Matt Smith. Imagine the scenes of his doctor with today's cinematography technology.

While I loved these particular Gallifrey scenes from Hell Bent, I can't help but wonder how much more awesome they would've been if Timothy Dalton had actually been available to reprise Rassilon.

24:30 Flat out best Time Lord confrontation ever. No flashy effects just a brilliant (and fully qualified) legal and moral argument against their excesses.

Mann, the scene 10 talking about Gallifrey in The Sound of Drums is one the scenes from Doctor Who that's always stuck with me. Beautiful...
