Do We Fight or Flee Babylon?

Can we actually be "in the world but not of the world"? How do we flee Babylon if we're not physically separating like in ancient times?

Connor, I'm so grateful someone else thinks more like I do. I have been devouring your content lately, I just feel so validated in my questions & concerns.
Yes, I could be making erroneous conclusions ....we all could .... but as long as the desire of my heart is to know the truth and who God really is and strive to understand what He's doing in His vineyard, then eventually, I believe I'll know the truth of ALL things.
Can't wait for that day, .... but until then ....we muse.
Thanks for sharing your many musings. I'm grateful for your perspective and willingness to discuss the controversial things, things that wouldn't really need to be so controversial, if we would just discuss them and have transparency and no fear about what truth comes forth from our prayerful & careful studies.
I think it's exciting!
And yes, I am also an active member is the LDS church, who knows our leaders are not infallible .... and that's okay.
The Lord only has imperfect Saints to work with .... and He trusts us, as members of His church to use our minds, our hearts, and our initiative to pursue Him and His gospel.
We can do this!
It's a very good thing ....😊

I loved this, I can’t wait for next weeks musing. I want the meat that the church seems to be ignoring. Thanks!

“It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were.
And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened?
But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.
Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why.
But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going, because they were holding on to something. That there is some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for.”

You are SPOT ON with the watered down Relief Society lessons. LOTS of emotion and some stories and some burst of pure testimony once in a while...if the teacher doesn't say "I need to get back to he lesson/talk.

Thank you Conner. I am a teacher and refuse to use pronouns of students (and other teachers) who are "changing" their gender. Now, after listening to this episode, I realize that I am "fighting Babylon" by NOT going along with all of the "gender ideology" so prevalent in our public schools. I will fight on. Thank you!

Brother Boyack, ur a wonderful voice of reason and I do enjoy ur podcasts. U always seem to back up everything ur musings etc with scripture and other resources. Good job!
I just wanted to say that as we personalize the scriptures for ourselves, as we become prophets and prophetesses in our own domain, our own home, it can be a huge scary thing. As we develop these spiritual aspects in our lives drawing closer to the Holy Ghost and our Savior we will develop more faith and confidence we are doing the right thing for our families in our circle near and far for the good.

We fight for Christ. We also fight against our common enemy. We are expected to fight the evil and secret combinations among us. It's not about fighting a specific people. It's about fighting the spread of the doctrine and practices of Satan at all levels in and out of the church and government. It's not enough to live and let live. We must take a stand. We are either for God or against Him.

Re: Connor Boyack – “Do We Fight or Flee Babylon?”

I just finished listening to the subject presentation. The idea expressed by several Church leaders that the places of gathering today are wherever the saints live is not a new concept to me, nor is the counsel for California saints to remain in California.

Concerning the latter counsel, it is interesting that President Nelson’s “get the jab” advice was very controversial whereas urging saints to stay in California does not seem to have met the same skepticism and controversy. Members of the Church in [name of city] are regularly “fleeing Babylon” and moving to Utah, Idaho, Arizona, etc. I would also happily do so, and without guilt, if my children moved elsewhere.

Concerning every saint gathering in his own county, that indeed is the current policy. However, the quotations from Church leaders did not explicitly state that it would never change (though Holland’s verbiage could easily be so interpreted).

The thinking of various Church leaders and/or scholars over the years has always been that the time will again come when the Saints will be told to physically gather from around the world “unto the land of Zion” (D&C 133:9, 12, 14-15). Now, one could argue that these verses only applied to the early Church and/or that “the land of Zion” is every stake in every country of the earth. However, consider D&C 133:13, which is for those of Judah (presumably modern-day “Jews”). Should this verse only be applied to the past? Is not the great gathering of the Jews predicted in the scriptures only after they believe in Christ? If so, should they then remain in their own lands (various countries of the world) and not physically “flee unto Jerusalem, unto the mountains of the Lord’s house”?

D&C 133:26-33 are the famous verses describing the return of “they who are in the north countries” (presumably the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel). This will almost certainly be a physical gathering, though anything can be spiritualized. (For example, McConkie said that the “highway” mentioned in verse 27 is not a physical construction “spanning oceans and continents” but is the highway of righteousness.)

Moses 7:62 also seems to clearly imply a physical gathering as does D&C 45:68-71. One might still argue that this verbiage, while using the Center Place (Jackson County) as an example, also applies to every stake of Zion throughout the world.

Conner, I don't see the church fighting against Babylon either. I see them avoiding all of the social conflict that is brought on by the enemy. It’s deflating.
Our culture is going the wrong way fast.

This, I think, has been your best episode yet. Good job.

Connor, thank you for pointing out the attack on men. It's not just outside the church. The church today is not setup for men. It's setup for women and children today and men are largely looked at as superfluous. In the book, "why men hate going to church" it lays this out very well. Church today is much more appreciated by women and beta males and gays he says. It's all about the sensitive and emotional. And I have watched almost all of my single male friends fall away from the church because the church is loaded with girls walking around like street queens with secretly high body counts or most are overweight. The beta males linger behind and are not much better. We dont even discuss the basics of what women should do in a marriage. I rarely see or talk to men in the church who I would want to have as friends . They are very low T, soft and feminized. It's been astounding to me to watch this unfold over my single years. Even white knight podcasters like CWIC or Jacob Hansen are quick to defend bad female behavior or shame good men. Men who have the qualities of strong leaders are long gone or married outside the church . Ive been to dozens of wards and we are a church of very weak men. Definitely not the kind I expect to "fight battles" together with. It's really sad. I understand why so many men have left and because so many of these real men have left, the single women are leaving as well because they dont want the beta males who are the norm in the church today and with dating apps can marry far Better outside the church. We are out of touch with whats happening to the youth because we see everything only through the lens of the BYU stories.

Doctrine and Covenants 123:13 says, "Therefore, that we should waste and wear out our lives in bringing to light all the hidden things of darkness, wherein we know them; and they are truly manifest from heaven".

Connor, I'm glad I found your channel earlier this year. Your musings are always interesting and thought-provoking. I'm surprised at your number of subscribers... It should be 10x that amount. I loved the paragraphs you shared from "Live not by lies", Solzhenitsyn states perfectly how Christians everywhere should respond to the lies of compelled speech that the Leftists try to force upon us.
Thanks for the great content you post.

A way to fight Babylon is to denounce deception. Furthermore, to disseminate truth without money and without price; not selling Christ for money

So much Pride is oozing in the majority of these comments. Yes, I am calling you out, Gentiles, we as a people need to repent, come unto Christ and not only say but do as the BoM teaches. We need to live by the spirit, according to what the scriptures teach and seriously consider the counsel of key holders. Everything else will sort itself out.

I don’t watch all of your podcasts. I’m just listening to a past one presently that refers to the scriptures I quoted. I do realize how strange things can become with some. I also do have compassion upon Lehi and his family. Just imagine what his family thought and the faith and love and it took to follow their father, the absolute faith Lehi had and a sure knowledge and then came the “wo is me” regret! 🤪 As in, how could we/I have followed him…is he crazy or are we absolute idiots for following him to begin with!” Can you imagine their thoughts!

Connor, why is it the older I get the more I see how religion makes men weak? The mindset of someone else will save you and all I have to do is confess and pray and all is well in zion. Follow in line… wait for the prophet to tell us something new… idk… I don’t think saints realize how dark things are…

Where there is no vision, the people perish.

Let's not put the majority of the blame on regular 'ol members.

They have plenty of blame put upon them from the top.

I love you work though Conner. Truly I do.
