After the Mother's Bus Attack, where armed individuals took over a bus near Israel’s Dimona nuclear facility and killed three people, Israeli intelligence identified Abu Jihad, a leader of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), as the person behind the attack. Defense Minister Yitzhak Rabin ordered his assassination, leading to a carefully planned operation by the elite military unit Sayeret Matkal in Tunis, where Abu Jihad lived. The commandos used surveillance and smart tactics to reach his villa and successfully carried out the mission, even though they had an unexpected encounter with his wife. While Israel did not officially take credit for the operation, it received a lot of media attention and sparked discussions about its impact on the ongoing conflict in the region.

I am a nurse and back in the 80's I was working on an inpatient psychiatric unit and one of my patients was a young woman from Israel. She told me how all young men and women had to go through military training. She was a lovely young woman who had gone through a lot at such a young age. I have thought of her through the years and wondered how she was.

Thanks for your effort to bring us this story. What a man Barak was, the planning was incredible. To say it doesn`t make much difference would be wrong IMO because that prick was behind mass murder constantly for decades. You saved lots of lives Sayeret Maktaba and Barak well Barak shares with two others the honor of being the most highly decorated soldier in Israel's history.

I am an Iranian vet of the Iran-Iraq war in the 80s, member of an Airborne unit rescuing Iranian fighter, and Bomber pilots who were hit behind the enemy lines. You should keep in mind, that the major General Barak, was himself a legend of the Saret Matkal unite and himself, involved in so many Operations as a young officer of this unit. This particular operation was very similar to a previous operation this unit carried out very successfully in the 70s against the PLO in Beirut, ” Operation Spring of Youth”. If I am truthy informed, the General himself was dressed as a very nice-looking girl on the streets of Beirut, walking with some good-looking young men and “ladies” attacking one of the main objects of the PLO at that time. You should bear in mind, in that operation, there were no actual “ladies”.lol Anyhow, In this documentary, forever reason, some elements of this wonderful operation kept secret. So I will keep them secret too. Well done Israel!
