1. Acid + alkali when mixed together, will release salt + water.
2. It is called a neutralisation reaction, because the strength of both acids are lowered.
3. They are brought to a neutral level where the intensity of the acid and base are lowered.
4. The best example to study a neutralisation reaction is the formation of sodium chloride, or salt.
5. If we take hydrochloric acid and combine it with sodium hydroxide, then the neutralization reaction gives us sodium chloride
