We've had an awesome week. Changing it up from blasting and welding this week we got to play with wood and the new sandblaster nozzle arrived. Damien had to do some mods to the sandblaster before we could do the rest of the wet sand-blasting in the galley and studio cabin, so we got a few necessary jobs done.
Damien sized, cut, and painted the wall panels for the starboard for'ard bulkhead in the galley, designed and made the storage locker/wardrobe in the starboard side cabin, and he shaped and cut the plinths that go under the cabinets to be installed in the galley.
All this and in the meantime, we sorted the sandblaster mods, blasted and rust killed the second half of the galley floor, pad welded some pesky corrosion on the portside bulkhead and finished the plinths, ready for painting. But that's for next week...
Finally some progress!
We hope you enjoy it.

I've always wanted a bandsaw but settled for clamping my jigsaw into a vice on the work bench, another great video, I don't have a boat or have never been sailing but I love watching and supporting Brupeg's build and journey. These videos are so much better than anything on TV. Jess is looking so well and has a new lease of life. Keep up the great work 👍

Haha flys to epoxy ratio = protein paint 🤣

Flap disk on a grinder is great for sculpting wood. I saw it on one of the channels I follow and I thought it was brilliant. I pulled out my grinder and made two replacement blades for a rotten paddle I had sitting in my basement. It was so quick and easy. The best tool is the right tool, the second best tool is the one you have within reach.

Don't worry about the flies, just give em another coat of varnish, then get a labeller and write the names in latin on a little tab underneath, Austrosciapus connexus, Aedes albopictus, Hermetia illucens, and so on - Hey, it works for museums...

Good to see you using the ply strip template method. I learnt very late in my boatbuilding life to use 40mm wide strips of 3mm ply and a hot glue gun to make quite complex templates even on curved surfaces. The beauty of the thin ply is you can score it with a Stanley knife and snap it, I appreciate you are using what you have got to hand but if you can pick up a cheap damaged sheet from the hardware store then it would last you for ages.

Cummins should have correct turbo clamp as well. We use 4W-9160 Caterpillar clamp for same job. 👍🏻

An angle grinder can actually be a pretty useful shaping tool for wooden boats.

Scribing the front element of the plinth was great, nice job with the Skil saw BTW.

The rear element though doesn't need to be scribed, a simple 4x2 on short legs would have done the job, much easier tonget the plinth level front to back that way

The book-match on the ply panels (in the lower haft) look very ominous (think Eddie for Iron Maiden). Check it out from the video perspective. Love what you all are doing, keep up the brilliant work.

Great work. Your to do list is so long. When you down to the engine room, I thought, wow. Still a lot to do. How are going to be when your finished. Put on about 20kilos. Those steps are a killer when your working. Up and down. Your could take up rugby in the front rows. You could play for the Aussie team to beat those Kiwis.
