A direct solution: Let *x > 0* be the continued fraction (assuming it converges). Then

*x = 3 + 4 / (3 + x) => x^2 + 3x = 3x + 13*

Both *3x* cancel. We ignore the negative solution as *x > 0* to get *x = √13*
