I am running a beast of a machine here, my dream machine MACPRO 2012 3.46 Ghz 12 core with 64 gig RAM, 4 SSD's and UA accelerators on PCie. Logic is using 24 processors. It occasionally stalls because I think Logic doesn't need that much processing power. Anyway, I am using OSX 10.13 which is incredibly stable, I didn't want to ruin my system so am working on Mojave with Logic 10.15 on a partitioned drive, it allows me to test my audio interface and plugins whilst deciding if lat st LPX is for me. Its early days but as primarily a Rock musician I am not sure if I need all the new features, what one wants is not always what one needs!

Thanks for the video. At this very moment I'm not into any important project, so I did upgrade for Catalina 15.5 and Logic Pro 10.5. Everything seems to be working very nice, except for some of the WAVES plugins, if you load it in your project, Logic immediately crashes and closes. Any one else?...

Great video, Chris. You missed a biggie - can you open 10.4.8 projects in 10.5 and vice versa? This is assuming you aren't using any of the new Logic plugins / software instruments.

Not sure if others have faced this issue but hopefully this helps someone. For me, lots of my plugins would no longer load due to security. So to fix that, I had to go to System Preferences, Security & Privacy, General, and then rescan plugins. Sometimes had to rescan more than once, and then they would show up in the System Preferences pane to allow/disallow them. That let me allow those plugins that were disabled through the OS.

Don't update just to update. Updates ALWAYS break things. Unless you absolutely need a feature then go ahead, but get ready for headaches.

Amusing to me your informative video detailing concerns about early adoption of Logic Pro X 10.5 begins with Mohave backdrop, seven months after Catalina release. Hype and new features attract but when actual ability to make money through production is at stake, of course one should wait. Your use of Mohave tells the entire story.

i bought a new MINI with the new M1 2020 SSD and Monterey. I have not gotten any Logic Prop updates since 10.4. Do I need to buy Logic Pro all over again in order to get an update that might work faster with the new hardware? Why did I stop getting updates in the first place. Thank you.
