Making My Dream Woodshop -- Episode One

I just started creating my dream woodshop/makerspace because I just moved to a new house with a real shop! No more sharing the garage with my wife. I'll have lots more on this move to come. This week I give a first look around and show how I was able to easily move all my heavy tools and benches. Let me know what you think and feel free to subscribe to follow the journey!

Where to buy these tools:

You are really lucky, my shop was built by my grandfather in the 80s with limited equipment, but it works, and I love it.

No shop move is complete without an injury and a little blood. Glad it was not any worse. Looking forward to seeing the new shop setup and more projects.

If you build an addition on your new shop make it twice as big as you think you need. Believe me because you will never regret it! Great video Cam!

Thank you Cam for your hard work and after the fact commentary. You have talked about how tough it is to work by yourself. How true, how true! Also Happy New Year to your family.

Just coming from your Jonny Builds November 2023 video, and seeing how everything used to look. The nostalgia! The old staircase must have been weighing on your mind for such a long time, so I'm glad you took steps to remedy it.

Just watching today about the head wound. Similar to me yesterday, working above the kitchen door and I balanced my claw hammer on the door top edge. I came down the step ladder and took the removed tiling outside, stopped for a coffee and forgot the hammer! This morning I go to unhook the door off its latch (its latched back to stop our dogs pawing at it) look up and see the hammer still sat on the top! Quite an escape for my wife, myself the dogs and of course the ceramic tiled floor!

Cam, love to see your whole shop organisation. By the way I’ve been reliably informed by a doctor and a retired dentist who are both woodworkers that the CA glue we use is the same thing that the doctors use. I use it all the time for small cuts. Know exactly what you are going through with the fires as it was our turn last Christmas with the fires down the entire east coast of NSW and into Victoria. Just horrendous. Cheers jenny

Table Saw. Like the new shop space. Going to be fun arranging & setting up. I like the placement of the tablesaw right in the middle, too.

Sliding table saw. Congrats on the move Cam and I hope that you can get it organized to accomplish all of your future projects. Duct tape and shop towels work well for on the job injuries. Just saying.

Yes I have done that. Thankfully it hit me with the battery and not the point. Almost cried and laughed simultaneously... On another note just acquired a CNC plasma table and looking to build my first table and barstools. Love your channel. The first job I ever had they paid me in flying lessons.

Glad you got the shop! I remember the great fires of 2020.... Oregonian here as well. They were terrible.
