Easy DIY Homemade Automatic Watch Winder

Made from:
SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR 110V 2.5/3RPM. - from Ebay
Scrap black acrylic
Scrap wood dowels from Land Paddles.
Scrap foam.

While I'm waiting for the paint to dry on some PCH Land Paddles I made, I found an old small 110v motor.
I decided to make an automatic watch winder from scraps I found.
3 hours later, this is the result of my first homemade watch winder.

I'll order a digital timer so it can turn on and off at intervals.

Now, where did I put those land paddles?

That is a nice watch rewinder I have already ordered the motor from eBay it cost me only 4 US$.
As soon as I get the motor I will make a winder for my 4 automatic watches.Thank you very much for the great idea, which is cheap and innovative .

this motor s even smarter than you think! it changes direction not only when it is turned off and on again but also when it is blocked, so if you add a pin and a stopper it will change direction every turn! good luck!

What a clever idea... thx! Nice quiet little motor, and I 'wound up' plugging mine into a lamp timer that turns on & off at intervals, just to change direction, and also give it a rest occasionally, in case there's any danger of 'overwinding'. BTW, as noted in the comments, you have very nice taste in Vostoks. Am into the 'nautical-themed' designs myself (though still don't have that one w/ the Aircraft Carrier, aka, the "Admiral Kuznetsov")!

Nice. I'm planing to make one. The motor looks like the platter motor from microwave ovens. How long did you run it? Is the motor fine? (i suspect motors like this are not meant to run days at a time). I will try to make some temporization to it.. but with such low electronic skills, maybe a programmable outlet will do the trick.

Kinetic is not an automatic watch. It uses the motion to charge a rechargable battery to activate a QUARTZ watch!
