I love how Lin’s style is so clear it’s so similar to Hamilton! The background vocals w the rapping and the perfect rhymes, then the final dramatic chord that ends the song suddenly.

I know a lot of people would love a proshoot but honestly I think this particular musical is so good for film and the production design is looking great, unlike hadestown or hamilton in the heights can really benefit from a proper film production with incredible lighting and big sets and I think lin manual knew that and that's why he chose to adapt to to film instead of recording it like he did with hamilton

To those wondering, I think this full proshot hasn't been released (yet) either cuz they only recorded specific scenes for this docu or cuz this was taken from the archive footage they keep in the New York Public Library. And the only way to see these archived footage would be to go there physically.

Almost every Broadway show records their productions and keeps it in that library, except they're not exactly "pro-shots". Supposedly, they aren't filmed with public consumption in mind so the filmmaking quality isn't in the same level as the Hamilfilm for example. It's only kept for advertisements & educational purposes. It would def still be nice if they allowed the public to at least buy these copies tho. I'm sure there's a high demand for them within the Broadway community and they only have money to gain for doing so.
