The use of safe touch when teaching Yin Yoga.

The use of safe touch when teaching Yin Yoga.

There has been a lot of media attention in the past about inappropriate physical contact between yoga teachers & students.

This does not mean we have to stop connecting with our students in a physical way.

Touch is fundamental to human experience. It can support students feeling seen & allow teachers to 'be' with their students & work more instinctively.

Of course, touch can also hurt.

With good reason, we have made moves to protect our students & ourselves.

We should always gain consent first & implement strong boundaries.

Students need to feel safe. But, 'Safe touch’ doesn’t have to mean ‘no touch’. Healthy touch & connections with your students can enhance the 'holding of space' in our teaching.

Connect with your students & learn safe touch techniques particularly in Savasana, together with beautiful fascial massage & specific Acuyin points we can use to enhance student relaxation.
