Shortly after falling off the Rig, Caz wakes back up having been dragged back on to the platform by coworkers, to find that everyone around him is changing. As his coworkers are picked of one by one, monsters begin forming quite quickly. But the question is, how exactly is this happening to everyone and what did they hit? the most horrifying implication in this whole video, is that since Gibbo was the first (I think) one to start losing himself to the entity. All of his cries for help are genuine, yet also seems to be conscious enough of the situation that he could tell others to stay away from him. Like the entity was slowly pulling his mind apart as it examined how his brain worked.

Just a heads up. There weren't 120 people on the rig, It's mentioned in the game that the majority of them went home to spend the holidays with their families. The only people there are a skeleton crew of about 20 people.

I definitely think that Roanoke should cover SOMA. There is everything for him to love : CRISPR, unholy flesh blobs, feet, literally an anglerfish. It’s just missing rabies that’s all.

Gibbo wasn't just anybody, he was the first infected. If you talk to Roper at the start of the game, he and Gibbo are by the drill. Further, Gibbo calls Rennick when you're in the office with him and is the one saying there's something messing with the drill. About 15 seconds later, the rig shakes and rumbles as the entity is awoken

I always thought the "entity" was this eldritch deep sea thing, since they don't know what exactly they hit, and at the end, you can hear a heart beat, it has a heart beat, when they drilled into it, it reacted negatively, it is also very fiberous in its base state, only becoming bloby and fleshy when it comes into contact with other living creatures where it seems to act like a cancer, with there being extra hands and heads on some blobs. And there seems to be some mimiking of deep sea creatures, with Muir having crab legs, Addiar having more of a jellyfish body. The hallucinations that you experience are most likely the enitity trying to get you to leave, it WANTS you to leave so it can also get off, as finley states, "WE can't leave, but IT can" meaning it's hallucinations are meant to get you to want return to your loved ones so it can spread

Commercial Diver here. Bends don’t necessarily hurt, thats the problem. From my experience its either growing numbness, or searing pain.
Hes would also be freaking out because it can cause long term damage to pretty much everything if it isn’t treated very quickly by hyperbaric recompression.

As soon as I saw what the game was about I knew you would cover it. This game has all elements of good bio-horror.

Unrelated but my favorite character was Finlay. She was the true MVP. She knew the rig and it's systems from head to toe, she survived until the end on her own (which implies she endured parkouring and running her way around like Caz, despite being a 50-ish year old smoker) and she was the one with the brains and the balls to know they were doomed and needed to blow up the entire rig to protect people in the mainland. Ellen Ripley levels of badass.

I really like how this game handles it's soft body tissue physics and how the creatures move around. It's done really really well

This game was a trip. It's like "imagine if Junji Ito and Jeff VanderMeer made _The Thing_ and set it on Titan from _Destiny 2_ except the whole cast is from that funny country up north where my granny's from"

Also completely random fact: the actor who voiced Caz also voiced Adam Smasher 💀

To correct something a 5:56 trots says "My head is splitting" which is also mentioned by Caz [the player] when he gets near the stuff it gives him massive migraines and splitting headaches.

one of the more interesting things is when fixing the generator there is a key in the key box clearly with a giant tag on it different from the others labeled "Lab key".

I mean, I think the fact the entity is able to create a tornado around the main mass and turn the sky red whilst emotionally manipulating the surviving crew into not wanting to destroy it very clearly shows the entity itself is an eldritch being, and the infection is just its vector of power.
