Self destruction - I'll See You In My Dreams - Capitol 1106

That's the only place you'll likely hear this roll played without interruption - your dreams.

Things don't always go perfect during recording..... I did some edge repair an then a test run to check my repair, and it turned out pretty well. I knew I'd struggle while recording but I tried anyways... and failed. Luckliy I stopped the roll in time to save it from major damage. The roll appears to be in excellent shape, but the paper is extremely brittle and wanted to crack more each time I played it. Things went bad, as you can see. But I picked up where I left off and finished so you could see the repair and hear the end of the song. I have plenty more copies of this song but very few Capitol rolls.

Quite unfortunate, you did the right thing to stop the roll before it got any worse. I really hate it when there are long notes and they're close to each other and a little off-tracking can result feet of ripped paper and it's a pain to fix it. If you see the paper starting to not going along the tracker bar surface, stop and adjust it to align with the lower spool right away and it'd do the rest of the roll and future plays.

Is there any chance we'll hear this roll uninterrupted? It's a pity it didn't hold up, but the beginning was fabulous. I'll take this opportunity to say you're my favorite channel I've discovered this year.

I respect you attempt to fix this roll, these rolls aren't going to fix themselves Q(again): how many damaged rolls have you fixed, and how many(damaged rolls) are there in your collection? If any of my comments ever insult you, they are unintentional(just want to get that cleared).

You need to pull the left flange out some, put a bit of tape on it to make it stay free from the edge of the paper.

The moment I saw the title "I'll see you in my dreams" I was thinking of the song Goodnight, Irene.
Turns out it wasn't.

Capitol and Supertone ( Sears Roebuck’s brand from Capitol masters ) had some great arrangements, but cheap paper.
